This is one of our favorite holidays. Since both mine and Scott's family have such great traditions we get to break it up and spend the day in Delta and Provo. The first July we spent away from home in Arizona was not very fun. We decided not to go to Utah because I was ready to pop any day, I was pregnant that year. We also decided it was time to get Scott a new truck. So, in 115 degree weather I waddled around, midday through a few truck lots on the Fourth of July. Not quite my idea of fun. Scott really didn't have very much fun either. Especially because he was about to fork over a bunch of money for a new vehicle. From then on we vowed never to spend a Fourth of July away from home again. Usually the tradition is as follows: We spend the night at Scott's parents in Provo and wake up first thing to go to the parade on Center Street. Then all of Scott's extended family join us for a BBQ in his parents backyard. After visiting and grubbing we head down to Delta. Once we are there we relax a little bit before heading to the Demolition Derby and fireworks show.
This year we changed things up a bit. While Scott and I have been married we have never gone to The Stadium of Fire. We decided it would be fun to go see Miley Cyrus. Conan, Sarah and their children decided to head down to Utah to celebrate the holiday. We first went to Delta where we were spectators in the "Big Main Street Parade." We then ventured back up to Provo for the BBQ and finally we went to the Stadium of Fire. Wow, I'm just tired thinking about it all again.
Anyway, there are a lot of great memories and hopefully many more to come from our favorite holiday, Fourth of July. Thank you to everyone who help make it that way!!!
