If Heaven Had a Window

If Heaven had a window,
oh what I wouldn't do.
I'd love to see your smiling face
my peace would be subdued.
Would it seem as though I'd known you forever, or be a love brand new? Whatever kind of love it is, it's perfect because it's you.
Five years have come and gone with so many wandering thoughts.
Who is it that you'd resemble the most, which other child of mine would they compare you to?
Would you have hazel eyes like me or your dad's that are blue?
Would you be my quiet peacemaker or the one that likes to compete?
Whatever it is I know for sure, you'd make our life complete
Too perfect for this earthly life is what I have been told
So full of courage, strength, and wisdom you must have been so bold
For now I will sit here, patiently aging on this earth
Just know my tears are those of joy
they celebrate your birth
One day we'll be together and make up time once lost
You'll always be my baby boy no matter what the cost

Mommy loves you, Colten! We think of you often and are reminded frequently of the hole in our lives because you are not here with us!

Story Telling Festival

In second grade at the kid's school, they always do a  story telling festival.  The kids are to pick a favorite story and then retell it in front of the school.  Luke chose "The Boy Who Cried Wolf."  He was a bit discouraged at first and didn't have much faith in himself when first trying to memorize it.  He did surprisingly well.  He caught me off guard with how good his memory was.  He performed it in front of his class with no hesitation!

Let It Begin

To start the baseball season, Scottie's team played in the President's Day tournament in St. George.  We were ready for some warm weather, but it wasn't ready for us.  It was a bit cold that weekend, but they still had tons 'o fun!

Big Smooches

I've wanted to do this for a couple of years with Valentine's Day and I finally pulled it off.  There was a bit of tugging, but all in all no one really fought the idea.  All the pictures turned out really cute.  Looking back I should have gotten SOMETHING of Brooklyn, but my brain doesn't always work all that well!  We attached a Laffy Taffy candy to picture for them to be able to hand out as their treat.
