Blessing From Above

I was so excited to finally have this day come for us!!  I had done quit a bit of searching around for the perfect dress.  I even bought one online, then had my doubts, and eventually decided to go with this dress instead.  This one was custom made and bought from etsy!  I love it and am now very glad I decided to go with my instincts.  We had many loved ones there to make the day spectacular.  I wish I would have gotten some pictures of how her day ended.  She made sure to go out with a bang.  As we were taking family pictures, I felt a few rumbles from her bottom.  When Scottie held her for his turn he literally said "Hurry, she's going to go all over me."  I didn't think much of it.  As we were finishing up, I looked down and saw some weird coloring on her dress.  I examined it a little closer and the deeper I dug, the darker the color became and the louder and more frequent my "oh my gosh" became.  She had THE WORST  blowout.  I'm talking the blowout of all blowouts.  It was both on her front and back, clear above her belly button.  I couldn't even believe it.  Getting her dress off was interesting to say the least.  I had a crowd watching in horror with me as I attempted to put this little lady back in order.  I was extremely nervous that all of her hard work was going to ruin her dress and bloomers. Thankfully we got it rinsed out and spot remover on it before it could set in.  I hand washed it and line dried it ..... then it was good as new.  What a way to end the day!
Her Father gave her such a beautiful blessing.  He always brings me to tears while helping me to feel the spirit.  His way with words, confidence and calming voice always make it such a pleasant experience.  Good job babe!  As they blessed her, she was a perfect little angel.  Thank you Brooklyn!  Lincoln, on the other hand, not so much.  Thank goodness for technology.  My sister in law recorded it for me so I can transcribe it and have those words forever.

Luke's Kindergarten Graduation

My not so little Luke is getting so big.  I can't believe he is going to be a first grader now!  Luke loves school, socializing, sports, anything that makes him a big kid.  He had his kindergarten graduation the day before the last day of school.  He was in the front row so I was able to get some pretty cute pictures.

They performed a variety of songs one of which was "Proud To Be An American."  That got me choked up real good.  Just to sit there and think about our freedoms, the ability to choose what we believe in, and have these little guys waving the American flag around got the tears flowing.  I started thinking about the line that says "I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me."  I personally know of someone who gave his life for our freedoms.  I feel forever indebted to him and his wife, my good friend Brooke, for their HUGE sacrifice.  I have had many friends and loved ones who have served in the military and I am so grateful to each and everyone of them!

Sego Lily Dance Festival

Sego Lily does their dance festival a bit different than that of our old elementary school.  Instead of having it on the last day of school, they have it on the second to last week of school.  I wasn't sure where Luke was in his formation with all of the other kindergartners, so I wasn't able to find where he was until the song was completely over!  I made sure I spotted Savana and Scottie right when they walked out.  It was fun to see each of them perform the dances they had been practicing the previous weeks.  Well, with an exception of Luke.  He's a bit shy and I didn't see him practice once.  I barely got the name of the song out of him!

"Under the Sea"  The Little Mermaid

"Never Had a Friend Like Me"  Aladdin

"Crocodile Rock"  The Beach Boys

Brooklyn's Baby Shower and Nursery

I finally was able to put some finishing touches on Brooklyn's nursery.  There is a bit more work left, but I was pretty proud of what we accomplished so far I had to show it off.  Next on the agenda, a few small shelves and her daddy finishing her dresser!

I have too many sweet people in my life I can't count them on all the fingers and toes I have.  Luckily I've been so blessed to have people like this to soak me with love!  My Mom, Mother in law-Debbie, Sister in law-Chelsea, and good friend Michelle Hew Len, threw a welcome baby shower for Brooklyn and myself.  It was so very kind of them.  They each have busy lives and I know the time and energy it takes to put a baby shower together.  I'm so appreciative that they did this for us!  Thanks Ladies.....love you!! My mom took the pictures for me, with the exception of the one with her in it :)
