Sisters

I can't even tell you how long I've been waiting to be able to do pictures like this!  Savana has begged for a little sister for years.  When I was pregnant with Colten, she couldn't understand why she couldn't have a sister.  A little bit of time went by and when I became pregnant with Lincoln, I think she had either grown immense patience or she kind of gave in thinking she would be the only girl.  We tried really hard to make it a positive thing for her and let her know we don't get to choose.  Once she found out Brooklyn was going to be a girl, she was so beside herself.  It was literally a real life dream come true for her.  After the first few days when Brooklyn was born, Savana wouldn't hardly let her out of sight.  She wanted to constantly be holding her.  The novelty wore off a bit, but she still enjoys holding her and she's a great help to me when I need her to be.

New Kicks

This kid LOVES being outside. That just goes to show how similar he is to the other kids. I'm sure if I let him be outside from sun up to sun down, he'd be game. He accomplished something pretty big the other day. Lincoln went all the way up the driveway all by himself. We were referred to Shriner's Children's Hospital to have him be seen by an orthopedic surgeon. Lincoln's ankles are pretty weak and can't support the weight as needed to allow him to stand or walk independently. So, they decided to have him fitted for braces. He is supposed to wear them throughout the day with breaks every 2-3 hours for an hour or whenever he's sleeping. They also gave him some specialty shoes to go along with them. The shoes are a bit taller than your average shoe which allow him to fit in them easily with the braces. Lincoln was not very happy when he was first introduced to them. I think he was just afraid of the unknown. He kept looking at me with these huge puppy dog eyes like...."save me Momma." I'll have to post individual pictures of the shoes and braces. It's taking him a little getting used to them. Walking with his walker in them at first proved to be a bit difficult. Just getting used to the extra weight and some of the limitations the braces posed were enough to make him have to work a little harder, but he never gave up. He never does. It may take Lincoln quite a bit longer than your "average" child to accomplish something, but he's strong-willed enough that it always happens. As I watched him first struggle doing what so many of us take for granted the other day, I couldn't help but get a little teary-eyed. This little guy has to work one hundred times harder to do what is natural to so many of us. I'm so proud of him though. I know it's hard work, but I also know it will all pay off. Lincoln is amazing to me. I truly would do anything for my boy!

New Life

front of birth announcement

Can I just tell you taking pictures of newborns is one of my favorites??? It takes a lot of patience, but the payoff is endless. I did find out it's easier to either be the mom or the photographer, but not necessarily the mom and the photographer. It was a bit of a challenge. We pulled through it in the end and I got some beautiful pictures I'm so happy with!
back of birth announcement

In this picture she was still a little jaundiced, but I love it anyway!

I know, I know, picture overload.  I just can't help myself!!

Love you baby girl!!

One Month

Time has passed so quickly.  I've been trying to cherish every moment of this little one's new life.  I realize she is my last baby and so I find myself wondering at times ..... "will I remember this moment right now?"  It's bitter-sweet.  She is just plain sweet.  No bitterness with her!

Scottie is up to his usual.....
Baseball and Babes
He's in three different leagues right now...no joke!

He was awake in this picture.  He kept acting like he was asleep and when I asked why he was doing that he said because Dad pretends like he's asleep in pictures where he holds the baby LOL
