Scottie's #10

Ten years! Really, that doesn't seen too much in the span of time, but it really is. To think I've been a mother for ten years now! I can't believe how fast he's growing up. It truly makes me sad. I will have him home with me for less than half of the time he's already been with me :( I was looking through one of his baby books the other day and I just started sobbing. Where does the time go?? He is so independent and most definitely has a mind of his own. Scottie is so talented. I am in awe of half of the things he is just a natural at. We have him in accelerated baseball and basketball right now. He excels at both of them. One of the things I love about him is that not only is he athletic, but he is super intelligent as well! The biggest thing I love about him though is his tender heart. He deeply cares for others and their feelings even if it's not so easy to show at times. Scottie, I hope I am everything in a mother you would ever want. I am so very lucky to have you apart of my life and I wouldn't be who I was if I didn't have you!! Happy Birthday Buddy!

We always like to make sure they get a cake of their own on the day of their birthday and this year I did a few little extras for Scottie.  He loved it!

Scottie decided he was too big to have just a family party this year so he wanted to make it just a friend party. We sent out a few invites to a few of the boys in his class and they met at our house for cake and ice cream followed by a trip to Trafalga. The Invite:

And the cake we had with his friends before we took off for the party.

Halloween 2011

This year we were excited to go trick or treating in our new neighborhood.  That is, until my professor became a scrooge and decided he wanted to hold class on Monday night despite the fact that it was a holiday! ..... boo!!  So, we came up with a plan to try to make it to Scott's parents, all of us go trick or treating for a while and then I could be on my way to class.  Well, that didn't work out either.  I ended up not going to class and we ended up trick or treating in his parents neighborhood anyway.
Really, it makes me cringe to have to include that last photo of Scottie. Not because of him, of course, but because it is out of focus! It was from their parade. I was in a tight corner and they were moving fast. So, unfortunately it is the only one I got of him in the parade!
After the parade, Scottie class had a Jungle Play.  He played the role of the Lion.

Baby In A Basket

......He wasn't too thrilled....

Pirate Play

Scottie's music class put together a Pirate Musical. He was one of the two lead narrators.  He was a little emabarassed at first when we showed up and I had my camera in tow.  It didn't take long for him to get into it though.  Lincoln was TOTALLY into it.  He kept laughing, really loud and all the kids in the audience couldn't resist looking back to see where that sweet sound was coming from.
Good job bud!

Savana and The Lehi Pionettes

We signed Savana up for a two drill team camp.  She got to learn a dance and then perform it at the Lehi High School football game halftime.  She was so excited.  Sometimes she gets a bit nervous being asked to perform in front of people, but she did it and loved it!  She really has such rhythm, it's amazing to watch how she gets into it and really enjoys it.  It was raining that night and SUPER cold.  The grass was wet, but she didn't complain when she still had to do some of her moves on the ground.   .......Superstar.....

Ugh...this reminds me, I need a longer range lens!

Lehi Pioneers football 2011

Scottie found a comfortable spot on his little league football team this year.  He actually played many positions and spent the majority of games playing the entirety of the game.  His coaches were awesome.  They grew so much and learned a lot.  It was definitely a good experience for him!  The poor team didn't win one game through out the season, but I think the lessons they learned were much more valuable than any win ever could have been.

School Days

Okay, really, I don't like to have to pay for pictures because I know I can take them myself and usually they end up being really nice photos.  BUT seeing that it's a memory I love having from my childhood, I figured they would love the memory for themselves as well.  I also want to make sure they can have a class photo to always remember their classmates by.  Oh my....they're so cute!  I could just eat them up!!
